GearWrench® Set To Make Initial Start In Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series With Chip Ganassi Racing

CONCORD, N.C. (APRIL 27, 2017) – After making an announcement at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas to partner with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR), GearWrench® will make its debut as a primary partner on the No. 1 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) Chevrolet SS this weekend at Richmond International Raceway (RIR).

NOTES OF INTEREST:

Innovation: GearWrench started in the vehicle service market, where it remains a leading tool brand. In 1996, GearWrench introduced the original patented five-degree ratcheting wrench, capturing the attention of automotive technicians and earning their loyalty. As awareness of GearWrench innovation increased, the brand expanded into additional market segments, including industrial, aerospace, and technical education. GearWrench hand tools are available through local, regional, and national wholesalers and retailers, authorized online partners, and a network of mobile distributors.

Gears of Ganassi: GearWrench is a brand that is focused on the end-user and the stories behind the technicians that utilize their products. To highlight some of the unique stories of behind-the-scenes personalities, GearWrench has featured the #GearsOfGanassi on CGR social channels. The brief features highlight unique human interest stories from throughout the CGR shop.

Driving Success: McMurray, a two-time contender in the MENCS Playoffs, is competing in his 15th full-time season in the MENCS in 2017. The Joplin, Mo. native won in just his second series start in 2002, setting the record for the fewest starts before a first victory. McMurray has more than 500 series starts and won some of the biggest races in the sport, including the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and the Sprint All-Star Race.

QUOTEBOARD:

Jamie McMurray, driver No. 1 GearWrench® Chevrolet SS: “It seems like so long ago that we made the announcement about GearWrench joining our team. It is exciting to finally have the car on the track at Richmond this weekend.
